Where to Stay on Maui, Hawaii: Best Areas and Towns

Maui is the magical second-largest island in Hawaii and is known for its gorgeous beaches, incredible hiking trails, and vibrant culture. The island can be divided into five main areas: West Maui, South Maui, East Maui, Central Maui, and Upcountry.

These five areas include the following towns:

I will be zeroing in on the stunning West and South Maui regions, as these are my favorite spots to enjoy while visiting this incredible Hawaiian island.

Lahaina is the capital of West Maui and is one of the most popular places to stay on the island. Its vibrant atmosphere and close proximity to Kaanapali Beach make it a perfect destination for travelers seeking a mix of urban and beach vibes.
