Maui Cruise Port: Where do cruises dock in Maui?

If you’re planning a voyage to Maui from a cruise ship, be sure to check the cruise ship schedule for which port it stops at; Lahaina Harbor or Kahului Dock.

Tendering in Maui from a cruise ship anchored in Lahaina Harbor in Maui

📍 Lahaina, Maui Cruise Port

Situated on the western coast of Maui, Lahaina Harbor does not have a port for larger ships to dock. Instead, these vessels anchor just offshore and passengers hop onto smaller boats called tenders that take them directly into downtown Lahaina.

The following cruise lines use Lahaina Harbor: Princess, Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, and Fred Olsen.

Maui from a Cruise Ship from Kaanapali Beach

📍Kahului, Maui Cruise Port

Nestled on the north central coast of Maui, Kahului Harbor is a mere mile away from the town with its namesake and two miles from Kahului Airport. This bustling commercial port provides access to tourists who want to escape their regular vacation spot for a more historically-enriched area as it has been an integral part of commerce in these islands for many years.

The best part about docking at this harbor? You won’t need to tender – meaning you can disembark quickly after arriving!

Cruis Ship at Kahului Cruise Port on Maui

Staying for two days in this port of call means you can get on and off your cruise ship anytime—the gangway remains open all day and night! Unfortunately, there’s not much to explore nearby that is within walking distance.

The cruise lines using Kahului Harbor are Carnival and Norwegian.
