At $179 per person for the small-group Cessna tour, we felt the experience delivered excellent value. We spent more than an hour in the air, enjoyed fantastic photo opportunities, and saw parts of Kauai that would have taken days to explore by car, boat, and hiking trail.

We chose the Cessna Tour, which carries just two to three passengers and starts at $179 per person. For us, the smaller aircraft created a more personal experience and provided excellent views throughout the flight.
If you’re visiting Kauai on a cruise ship, transportation is not included. Lihue Airport is only about 5 to 10 minutes from the cruise port, making it easy to reach by Uber, Lyft, taxi, or rental car. We already had a rental car, so getting there was quick and easy.
Our Wings Over Kauai Experience
Our experience with Wings Over Kauai started with a quick and easy check-in process at Lihue Airport. One thing to know before you arrive is that passengers are weighed before the flight. This is a normal safety procedure for small aircraft and helps the crew properly balance the plane.
Since there were only three passenger seats available on our Cessna flight, seating was flexible. Gary sat in the front passenger seat, which gave him great views through the windshield. I sat in the back and had both rear seats to myself, making it easy to look out either side of the plane and take photos.
Before takeoff, we were given headsets so we could communicate with the pilot and hear his commentary throughout the flight. The headsets worked well and made the experience much more enjoyable.
