Sevierville is worth visiting! There are tons of things to do, and it is a beautiful mountain town just across the border of North Carolina in Tennessee. In fact, Sevierville is right next to Pigeon Forge, which is next to Gatlinburg. Sevierville is less than 6 miles from Pigeon Forge and 11 miles from Gatlinburg.

Sevierville is most known for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and for shopping. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located in the southern part of Sevier County and includes scenic drives, hikes, and panoramic views.

And as far as shopping goes, there are tons of stores, including the Tanger Outlet with over 100 name-brand stores.

Is a day trip to Sevierville worth it?

Yes, if you only have a day or a few hours, there are many cool activities to experience. The list below includes activities that you can do in as little as 2 hours. Of course, if you can stay a few days, you can experience more and even visit Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, too.

This store has a great variety of Russel Stover brands and options with each brand. Also, you can often find holiday favorites from Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, the 4th of July, and Halloween. For me, I really love the Russel Stover Chocolate Eggs (coconut and almond is my favorite flavor).

Another stop we always make is the Scrapbook Superstore. Stop by both the store and the clearance center next door. If you are a scrapbooker, you will find locally themed embellishments to help you with your vacation photos from Sevierville and the surrounding areas and attractions.

This is considered the best flea market in TN with over 1,000 vendors. So make plans to visit the Great Smokies Flea Market on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday year-round. This flea market has vendors for home decor, antiques, arts & crafts, automotive, jewelry, gifts, tools, pets, sporting equipment, and more.

Tip: Avoid the traffic at exit 407 on I-40 by going in a back way. Scroll to the bottom of their website to see directions and a map!

Tennessee Legend Distillery

Stop by Tennessee Legend Distillery to try a variety of alcoholic drinks made locally, including whiskey, moonshine, spirits, and cream liqueur. 2 locations in Sevierville – Winfield Dunn and Newport Hwy.

You can explore the general store with all types of apple-themed products, and the kitchen has homemade pies, fritters, ice cream, and candies. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours.

Speedpark NASCAR

If you have a need for speed, then Speedpark NASCAR is the place for you. Here, you can enjoy go-karts, bumper boats, and other rides. You can also climb the rock wall, play VR Mini Golf, or play games in the arcade. All-day and 7-day passes are available.

Rainforest Adventures Zoo

If you love animals, the Rainforest Adventures Zoo is the place for you. With over 600 animals, you will enjoy seeing some of your favorites as well as some you may have never seen before. This zoo features tree frogs, cotton-top tamarin monkeys, bat-eared foxes, Toco Toucans, Binturong, African Porcupine, Sugar Gliders, and more. Also includes a petting zoo where you can pet and feed Aussie Sheep and goats. Parking is free and admission is reasonable.

Ripley’s Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini Golf

With 54 holes, this mini golf course will provide tons of fun for the family. Ripley’s Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini Golf is located at the big red barn at Tanger Outlet Center and features animated barnyard characters, water features, and interactive elements.

Jayell Ranch

At Jayell Ranch, there is something for everyone in the family, including zip lining, horseback riding, a train adventure, monkey and exotic bird experience, and ATV riding. You can even stay on-site in luxurious cabins.

Scenic Helicopter Tours will take you on an adventure in the sky. You will get an awesome view of the Great Smoky Mountains as well as the many attractions around Sevierville. Take a trip of 8 to 100 miles for an unforgettable aerial tour of the area.

The Smoky Mountain Valley Adventure offers you the chance to fly 24 miles high over the Great Smoky Mountains. This tour provides narration as well as unbeatable views.

Dubby’s Adventure Park at Five Oaks

Are you looking to ride horses and zipline in the Smoky Mountains? If so, go no further than Dubby’s Adventure Park at Five Oaks. Here you can choose to do one or both in this 70-acre natural park.

Sevier Air Trampoline & Ninja Warrior Park

At the Sevier Air Trampoline and Ninja Warrior Park, you will experience heart-pumping activities for jumping, bouncing, and flipping. With over 38,000 square feet, you can experience 60 trampolines, an obstacle course, 2 dodge ball courts, a rock wall, basketball goals, gymnastic tumble tracks, a rope swing, a jousting area, and a three-story net system for kids aged 2-10.

SkyLand Ranch

Brand new in the fall of 2022, the SkyLand Ranch includes shops, rides, food, and live entertainment. Set on a 100-acre farm, visitors can take a chairlift to the top to enjoy hours of fun on the mountain coaster, suspended bridge, canopy walks, and more. Also, SkyLand Ranch houses a whole collection of miniature animals, including donkeys and cows!

Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo

The Smokey Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo provides guests the opportunity to interact with animals, including camels, zebras, reindeer, zonkeys, guanaco, kangaroos, goats, pot-belly pigs, and more. Horse and pony rides are also available here.

Forbidden Caverns

If you enjoy seeing natural formations below the earth’s surface, then the Forbidden Caverns are for you. Maintaining a 58-degree temperature all year will help you escape the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Check out the natural chimneys, numerous grottos, and crystal clear creek. Keep in mind that the caverns are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.

Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park

Looking for a family fun adventure? Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park is a must-visit. A beautiful place to visit for waterfall canopy ziplining, climbing walls, hiking trails, and a swinging bridge. The Goliath Zipline is the longest, fastest, highest, and coolest in the Smoky Mountains. You will also be able to cross the Little Pigeon River on America’s longest swinging bridge.

Transportation in Sevierville

By car seems to be the most popular transportation based on the huge amount of traffic. An alternative is the Pigeon Forge Trolley. Check out the trolley map to see the routes. The cost is between $1 single fare and $3.00 for an all-day pass.
